Viewers Thrilled By Kiss Scene in “The World They Live In”

Yesterday marks the debut of MBC’s “The World They Live In“, a highly anticipated drama on television drama production casting Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin. And in this premiere episode, there was already a kiss scene between the two leads that left viewers thrilled, creating a buzz on the internet after the broadcast.

Jung Ji Oh (Hyun Bin) and Joo Joon Young (Song Hye Kyo) are both directors of a television station, with Ji Oh a senior while Joon Young is the newcomer but with a desire to achieve perfection in filming. They were previously lovers for 6 months but broke up in the end. A flashback scene was shown in the midst of argument between Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin. The flashback shows Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin sitting side-by-side at a busstop waiting for the bus to arrive. Hyun Bin turns around after Song Hye Kyo gave a tap on his shoulder. However little did he expect that Song Hye Kyo then inches forward to give him a peck on his lips.

After the broadcast, netizens flooded the official forum and left comments like “Song Hye Kyo is too charming, especially after she did that ’sneak attack’ to Hyun Bin”, “The shocked expression on Hyun Bin after the kiss is extremely cute”, “They are very compatible”, etc.

I have watched the first episode yesterday as well. Its a nice, lighthearted drama as opposed to other two supposedly dark themed “East of Eden” and “Tazza“, but it wasn’t quite what I had expected though. I find the first episode relatively uninteresting except for the interactions between Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin. Though they tried to show the intensity of a drama production but I just couldn’t feel it. This is just the first episode though, I pretty sure it will get better and am awaiting the chemistry between the two leads. At this point of time, it is 3 more hours to the broadcast of the second episode!

‘The World They Live In’ Special to Air on 21st October

KBS2TV’s upcoming mon/tues drama “The World They Live In” will premiere with a special episode to be shown on the 21st of October. Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin, the two leads of the drama, will be appearing in the special episode for an interview.

A related personnel from “The World They Live In” production team revealed, “Just not long ago, Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin have spent a wonderful time in Singapore. It is evident that both of them are also very popular overseas”.

Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin traveled to Singapore and Bali last month to film the overseas scenes of the drama. As it was an overseas filming, the team also recorded down their stay in Singapore. The scenes where both of them were given a warm welcome by the Singapore fans will also be shown in this special episode.

In the last 2 years, the viewership ratings of KBS’s mon/tues miniseries were not encouraging but “The World They Live In” will be shown at that timeslot. The collaboration once again between director Pyo Min Soo and writer Noh Hee Kyung also increased the anticipation by viewers.

A representative from the team expressed, “The currently airing KBS ‘The Kingdom of the Winds‘ also had a special episode prior to the actual broadcast”. Apart from this, the fact that “They World They Live In” is the return work of Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin to the drama scene after 4 and 2 years respectively is also a big plus point of this drama.

The first episode of “They World They Live In” will be broadcast on the 27th of October, replacing “Love Marriage“.

‘The World They Live In’ Poster Revealed

The main poster of the much anticipated new drama, “The World They Live In“, casting Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin, was revealed recently by the production company YEG.

As the production company took a conservative approach during the previous filming and not releasing any production stills, this main poster release is a surprise to many fans. It immediately sparked discussions among netizens. In response to their stance of not releasing the production stills and posters, the representative of YEG expressed that in order to satisfy the fans, they would rather release the beautifully taken posters instead of letting the media publish bits and pieces of them.

In this poster, Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin look couple-like beside each other, which aroused the curiosity of fans, wanting to know their relationship in the drama. Aside from Song Hye Kyo and Hyun Bin, other casts also include Uhm Ki Joon, Seo Hyo Rim, Bae Jong Ok and others.

I have seen the landscape version of this poster during the press conference in Singapore. That was a little better, I feel but both are very well-taken. Notice that the english name of the drama on the poster is “WORLDs within……“, should I use it instead or stick to my “The World They Live In”? Hmm, it doesn’t matter much I guess.

“The World They Live In” has finished their scene taking in Singapore and are currently filming intensely in Korea. The drama is scheduled to debut on the 27th of October on KBS2TV, replacing “Love Marriage“.
